GDC Spoon Excavator Darby Perry EXC210/211

The GDC Darby-Perry Spoon Excavator  (EXC 210/211) is a dental instrument used for removing caries and debris from tooth cavities during dental procedures. It is specifically designed with a spoon-shaped working end that is angled at approximately 90 degrees to the handle for easier access and manipulation in tight spaces. The working end of the excavator is made of high-quality stainless steel for durability and corrosion resistance. The handle of the instrument is ergonomically designed with a knurled grip for optimal control and comfort during use. The GDC Darby-Perry Spoon Excavator is commonly used in restorative and operative dentistry procedures.

Direction to use :-

  • Begin by selecting the appropriate size of the excavator based on the tooth surface and the extent of the decay.
  • Clean and sterilize the instrument using standard sterilization procedures.
  • Prepare the patient for the procedure and administer local anesthesia if needed.
  • Use the spoon-shaped end of the excavator to remove decayed tissue from the tooth surface. This end can also be used to remove debris and shape the tooth structure.
  • Use the pointed end of the excavator to remove small areas of decay and explore the tooth surface for any remaining decay.
  • Periodically rinse the tooth and the excavator with water to remove debris and maintain visibility.
  • Continue using the excavator until all decayed tissue has been removed and the tooth structure is sound.
  • Once the procedure is complete, rinse the tooth with water and dry it thoroughly.
