luxators with thin blades to cut the periodontal membrane and loosen the tooth.
GDC Luxatip 2mm Straight L2S
Luxatip is used to force a wedge between the root of the tooth and the surrounding bone, which helps to loosen the tooth within the socket. Luxatips are often used before the use of forceps to ensure there is some movement of the tooth to be extracted.L2S – Straight Blade – 2mm – Apical and/or interproximal.
- Tips are more finely tapered than elevators tips.
- Combination of a Periotome and an elevator.
- The sharp tip enables more efficient cutting of the periodontal ligament, while the tapering shaft assists with controlled expansion of the bony socket.
- The extraction operation may be performed with the minimum amount of tissue damage.
Luxatip colour (Grey, Multicolor, White) as per availability will be dispatched
Direction to use :-
- Preparing the instrument: Ensure that the Luxatip is sterilized before use. Inspect the Luxatip for any signs of damage or wear. Do not use a damaged instrument instead, request a replacement.
- Selecting the Luxatip: Assess the tooth and determine the appropriate Luxatip size and shape based on the tooth’s location and clinical requirements. Choose a Luxatip with a working end that matches the tooth’s anatomy to facilitate effective luxation.
- Positioning and grip: Hold the Luxatip in your dominant hand, ensuring a comfortable and firm grip. Position the working end of the Luxatip near the target tooth, taking note of the appropriate angulation for efficient luxation.
- Applying pressure: Gently and carefully insert the Luxatip between the tooth and the surrounding bone, applying controlled pressure. Use slight rocking or rotational movements to initiate the luxation process. Avoid excessive force to prevent damage to the surrounding tissues and maintain patient comfort.
- Progressing the luxation: Gradually increase the pressure as you continue the rocking or rotational movements to further loosen the tooth. Adapt the movement and pressure based on the tooth’s response, keeping in mind the desired separation between the tooth and its socket.
- Assisting extraction: Once the tooth is adequately luxated, switch to dental extraction forceps or instruments appropriate for the tooth’s position and characteristics. Coordinate with the dental professional to ensure smooth extraction, maintaining patient comfort throughout the process.
- Cleaning and sterilization: After use, clean the Luxatip thoroughly with a suitable cleaning solution and brush to remove any debris or blood. Rinse the instrument with water and dry it completely. Follow the recommended sterilization procedures to ensure proper disinfection before the next use.
