GDC Luxatip 3mm Inverted Curved L3IC
The GDC Luxatip – 3mm Inverted Curved (L3ic) is a dental instrument designed for use in various dental procedures, particularly in oral surgery and periodontal treatments. It is known as a luxating instrument and is primarily used for tooth extraction and tooth movement within the socket. It has an inverted curved design, meaning the tip curves inwards towards the handle of the instrument. The curved shape of the tip allows for precise and controlled placement in tight spaces, such as between teeth and within tooth sockets.
- Tips are more finely tapered than elevators tips.
- Combination of a Periotome and an elevator.
- The sharp tip enables more efficient cutting of the periodontal ligament, while the tapering shaft assists with controlled expansion of the bony socket.
- The extraction operation may be performed with the minimum amount of tissue damage.
Direction to use :-
- Sterilization: Before using the Luxatip, ensure that it is properly sterilized following standard dental instrument sterilization protocols to maintain hygiene and prevent infections.
- Patient Preparation: Ensure that the patient is adequately anesthetized and prepared for the tooth extraction procedure. Proper isolation of the tooth to be extracted is essential for a successful outcome.
- Positioning: Hold the Luxatip in your dominant hand with a firm grip on the handle. Position the curved tip of the Luxatip between the tooth and the alveolar bone of the target tooth.
- Gentle Pressure: Apply gentle and controlled pressure with the curved tip to gradually loosen and elevate the tooth from its socket. Use slow and precise back-and-forth and up-and-down motions to avoid any sudden movements that may cause trauma to surrounding tissues.
- Repositioning: If you encounter resistance or difficulty during the extraction process, pause and reposition the Luxatip to ensure the safe and effective elevation of the tooth. The curved design of the Luxatip allows for better access to posterior teeth and ensures controlled movements.
- Evaluate Progress: Continuously assess the progress of tooth elevation. Take your time and exercise caution to prevent damage to adjacent teeth and surrounding tissues.
- Assisting Instruments: Depending on the case, you may need to use other dental instruments such as extraction forceps or elevators to aid in the tooth removal process.
- Gentle Extraction: Once the tooth is adequately elevated and loosened, use appropriate dental forceps or instruments to gently extract the tooth from the socket.
- Post-Extraction Care: Provide appropriate post-extraction care and instructions to the patient to promote healing and reduce discomfort.
- Cleaning and Sterilization: After use, clean the Luxatip thoroughly and sterilize it following the recommended dental instrument sterilization protocols for reuse.
