For reflecting and retracting the mucoperiosteum after incisions of the gingival tissue.

Periosteal Elevator is an oral instrument commonly used to retract soft tissue in dental procedures. It has a sharp, pointed, narrow end that is used to begin the process of lifting the mucoperiosteum and a slightly wider, more rounded end that completes the tissue removal enough for bone exposure. Both tips are thin and slightly curved. The #9 Molt periosteal elevator is one of the most commonly used instruments in oral surgery.

Direction to use :-

  • Preparation: Ensure the patient is appropriately anesthetized, and the surgical site is accessible and visible.
  • Select the Instrument: Choose the GDC Periosteal Elevator Benque – 6 (Pbq1) based on the procedure and patient anatomy.
  • Hold the Elevator: Grasp the ergonomic handle of the periosteal elevator with a comfortable yet firm grip.
  • Identify the Target Area: Locate the area where periosteal elevation is required for the planned dental procedure.
  • Insertion: Gently insert the thin, tapered end of the elevator beneath the gingival tissue and onto the bone surface.
  • Pushing Action: Apply a controlled pushing action along the longitudinal axis of the bone to separate the periosteum from the underlying bone.
  • Work in Sections: Systematically elevate the periosteum in sections, moving along the bone’s surface as needed for the specific procedure.
  • Coordinate with Surgical Team: If part of a larger surgical procedure, coordinate movements with other instruments and surgical team members for optimal efficiency.
  • Inspect and Adjust: Periodically inspect the surgical site to ensure proper periosteal elevation. Make adjustments to the technique as required.
  • Complete the Elevation: Continue the periosteal elevation until the desired exposure of the underlying bone is achieved, facilitating subsequent dental procedures.
  • Exercise Caution: Avoid excessive force and unnecessary manipulation, ensuring atraumatic tissue handling and patient comfort.
  • Post-Procedure Care: Follow appropriate post-operative care protocols and proceed with the planned dental procedure.

Warranty :- 6 months against rust
