The GDC Double End Probes Cp12 / Screening Probe (Pcp12/11.5b) is a versatile dental instrument used for periodontal examinations and assessments. Direction to use :-
- Begin by ensuring proper infection control measures, such as wearing gloves and sterilizing the instrument according to recommended guidelines.
- Hold the instrument firmly but comfortably in your hand, ensuring a stable grip for precise control.
- Decide which end of the probe you want to use based on the specific examination or assessment you are performing.
- For the Cp12 probe end, gently insert the tapered tip into the periodontal pocket, applying light pressure. Carefully navigate along the tooth surface, probing around the tooth to measure the pocket depth. Use the markings on the probe to note the depth accurately.
- When using the Screening Probe #6 end, position the curved tip at the desired area to be examined, such as the gingival margin or tooth surface. Gently explore the area, checking for any abnormalities, such as gingival recession or tooth mobility. Take note of any findings.
- Repeat the probing and screening process for each tooth or area of interest, moving methodically around the mouth.
- During the examination, communicate with the patient, explaining the procedure and ensuring their comfort. Be gentle and cautious to avoid any discomfort or damage.
- After use, clean and sterilize the instrument properly following recommended infection control protocols.
