The MD Guide provides for an alternative method to fabricating a conventional surgical guide. In “theory” using some sort of a surgical guide when placing implants to ensure they are properly positioned can be helpful as a millimeter can make a real difference in the final implant crown fabrication. What is clinically useful about the MD Guide is that you are not changing your current surgical protocol or your dental implant system.
The MD Guide just allows you to drill your pilot hole more accurately in terms of mesio-distal spacing and parallelism. Instead of using the pilot drill with your implant system, the MD Guide can be used instead. It is a pilot drill and an alternative surgical guide combined. You are still drilling “free-hand” but with more accuracy. The drilling guides and non-drilling guides are sized at 6.0mm, 7.5mm, 9.0mm, 10.5mm and 12.0mm diameters. The drill length is 7.5mm and has a diameter of 2.0mm for all the drilling guides.
Because a millimeter can make a REAL difference, MD Guide provides you a mesio-distal guidance when placing implants. Each of the 5 pilot drills features a cylinder. The diameter of this cylinder matches the mesio-distal dimension of the tooth you have to replace.
The analogs (non-drilling guide) will also allow you to simulate the presence of the future prosthetic teeth when placing several implants.
MD Guide eliminates the need for making a surgical guide.
This intro kit includes:
1. 5 assorted drills
2. 5 assorted analogs ( non-drilling guides).
3. 1 autoclavable box.
4. Instruction for use.
|Don’t change anything with your current procedure. MD Guide offers you a mesio-distal guidance when placing implants. Each of the 5 drills features a cylinder with a diameter that matches the mesio-distal dimension of the tooth you have to replace.
When placing this cylinder against the adjacent tooth (Fig.1), you are sure that your implant will be perfectly positioned. MDGuide avoids having to make a surgical guide. If you have to place several implants, place one of the 5 analogs (non-drilling guide) in the first orifice made as previously explaned. (Fig. 2).
This analog will simulate the presence of the future prosthetic tooth and can be used to create the next hole with another MD Guide. If necessary, continue the steps to even make a full arch !
