Directon to use :-

Preparation:

• Ensure that the GDC Spoon Excavator is clean and sterilized before use. If it is a disposable instrument, make sure it is a new, unused instrument.
• Prepare the patient and the treatment area for the dental procedure.

Selecting the GDC Spoon Excavator:

• Choose the appropriate size and shape of the GDC Spoon Excavator based on the requirements of the cavity and the tooth being treated.
• Consider the depth and accessibility of the cavity when selecting the instrument.

Holding the GDC Spoon Excavator:

• Hold the GDC Spoon Excavator in a pen grasp between the thumb and index finger. The handle should rest comfortably in the hand for optimal control and maneuverability.

Applying the GDC Spoon Excavator:

• Position the working end of the GDC Spoon Excavator against the carious dentine within the prepared cavity.
• Apply gentle pressure with the spoon-shaped working end to remove or scoop out the decayed dentine from the cavity.
• Use a controlled and precise motion to ensure effective caries removal while minimizing damage to healthy tooth structure.

Removing Debris and Decay:

• After each removal, clean the working end of the GDC Spoon Excavator to remove debris and decayed dentine that may have adhered to it.
• You can use an air/water syringe or other appropriate means to remove the debris and maintain a clear field of view.

Repeating the Process:

• Continue the process of applying the GDC Spoon Excavator, removing debris, and assessing the cavity until the desired level of caries removal is achieved.
• Take breaks if needed to assess the progress and ensure the preservation of healthy tooth structure.

Post-Procedure Care:

• After completing the caries removal, thoroughly clean the GDC Spoon Excavator and sterilize it according to the recommended sterilization protocols.
• Properly dispose of any disposable instruments if applicable.
• Follow the appropriate infection control measures and dispose of any biohazardous waste generated during the procedure.
