Used for dental extraction (also referred to as tooth extraction, exodontia or exodontics): the removal of teeth from the dental alveolus (socket) in the alveolar bone.

Direction to use :-

• Prepare the patient: Ensure the patient is comfortable and properly positioned in the dental chair, with good access to the targeted tooth.
• Anesthetize the area: Administer local anesthesia to the extraction site to ensure the patient’s comfort during the procedure.
• Select the appropriate forceps: Choose the GDC Extraction Forceps Pedo that matches the tooth to be extracted. Different forceps are designed for specific teeth and root types.
• Grasp the tooth: Position the beaks of the forceps around the crown of the tooth, near the gum line. Ensure a firm but gentle grip on the tooth to prevent slippage during the extraction.
• Apply controlled pressure: Use controlled and steady pressure to rock the tooth back and forth in a buccolingual and mesiodistal direction. This helps to loosen the tooth from the surrounding tissues and sockets.
• Use rotational movements if necessary: In some cases, rotational movements may be required to further loosen the tooth. Carefully rotate the forceps in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction while maintaining a secure grip on the tooth.
• Extract the tooth: Once the tooth is sufficiently loosened, apply slightly more force to extract it from the socket. Use caution to avoid excessive force that may cause trauma to the surrounding tissues.
• Inspect and clean the extraction site: After the tooth is extracted, inspect the socket to ensure complete removal of the tooth and any associated roots. Clean the area and provide necessary post-operative instructions to the patient and caregivers.
