GDC Atraumatic Upper Root Extraction Forceps AFX51A

The GDC Extraction Forceps Upper Roots – 51a Atraumatic (Afx51a) is a specialized dental instrument designed for the atraumatic extraction of upper root teeth. These forceps are specifically crafted to minimize trauma to the surrounding tissues and preserve the integrity of the tooth socket. With a slim and tapered design, the forceps provide precise access to the root area, allowing for a secure grip and controlled extraction. The beaks of the forceps are designed with atraumatic tips, which help to gently grasp and loosen the tooth without causing excessive force or damage. This reduces the risk of fractures, root fractures, and trauma to the surrounding bone and soft tissues

Direction to use : –

  • Prepare the patient: Ensure the patient is seated comfortably in the dental chair and administer local anesthesia to numb the extraction site.
  • Select the appropriate forceps: Choose the Afx51a forceps specifically designed for upper root teeth.
  • Inspect the forceps: Before use, check the forceps for any damage or defects and ensure they are clean and sterilized.
  • Grasp the tooth: Hold the forceps in your dominant hand with a firm grip. Position the beaks of the forceps around the root of the tooth, ensuring a secure grip.
  • Apply controlled pressure: Apply gentle and controlled pressure to the tooth, directing the force towards the root. Use a rocking motion to loosen the tooth from its socket.
  • Avoid excessive force: Be careful not to apply excessive force that may cause damage to the tooth or surrounding tissues. Use precision and finesse throughout the extraction process.
  • Extract the tooth: Once the tooth is sufficiently loosened, lift and remove it from the socket using the forceps. Ensure a steady grip to prevent any accidental damage or displacement.
  • Clean and inspect: Examine the extracted tooth to ensure it is intact and free from any fragments. Clean the extraction site with an appropriate irrigating solution if necessary.
  • Provide post-extraction care: Offer post-extraction instructions to the patient, including guidelines on oral hygiene and potential discomfort management. Schedule a follow-up appointment if needed.
