Tissue pliers are tweezer-like instruments that are used to facilitate the grasping, manipulation, or joining of tissue.

Indications:

• Manipulate tissue.
• Support tissue while making incisions and suturing.
• Retract tissue to improve exposure.
• Grasp suture materials and needles.

Advantages:

• Tips have small teeth.
• Size and number of teeth vary.
• Teeth penetrate tissue to hold it.
• Less crushing injury.
• More secure hold with less finger pressure.

Direction to use :- 

• Hold the tissue forceps (pencil grip, NOT palm grip).
• Extract the tissue with tissue forceps.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS:

• Must clean after every use with warm water to remove blood, tissues, and mucus from the instruments.
• Ultrasonic cleaning is recommended for all the instruments specially articulated instruments such as forceps, rongeurs, etc.
• Use only standard and reputed brands of disinfectant solutions.
